PackFlash, DotNetNuke module developers, released Version 3.3 of their DNN Mega Drop-Down Module, which is a solution for providing a sophisticated looking menu and navigation for your DNN website. This DNN module includes an administrative tool that provides the ability to include images and other marketing text within the menu before and after any item in the navigation. A preview system allows for viewing what the menu will look like before releasing it to the website. The module converts your existing skin, and it can combine DNN pages and static links while creating different display rules for each menu tab.  With the latest release, the menu can now incorporate DNN social functionality.

The PackFlash Mega Menu module is a big part of the Constellation family which has eight DotNetNuke modules which are closely integrated. The Mega Drop Down module can be bought as a part of the Constellation Suite, or by itself.  When combined with the other modules, this DotNetNuke menu module becomes even more powerful as it can create a unified menu that incorporates DNN pages, PackFlash content categories (for content such are articles, videos, events, etc.), DNN social groups, and static links. This high level of module integration is unique the DNN world and no other DNN menu module provides these capabilities. The complete Constellation Suite includes the following modules for DNN: Events, Image Gallery, Slideshow, News & Blog, Friendly URLs, Mega Drop-Down Menu, Comment and Videos. The Mega Menu’s purpose within the constellation is to provide all types of navigation including the mega drop down menu, left navigation, and auxiliary navigation.

The big news with version 3.3 of the Mega Menu module, is that it now supports DNN Social functionality.  Firstly, administrators can incorporate dynamic profile links into the mega menu.  This is achieved by mimicking the rules of the standard DNN “Console” module.  Secondly, administrators can choose to incorporate DNN social groups into the mega menu.  For a flourishing community site, these social groups could be the most heavily trafficked areas of the site, so incorporating them into the main menu navigation is extremely useful.

“The entire DNN ecosystem is excited by the new social features that DNN has recently added to the platform, and we are pleased that we could help augment these features in several ways with our product line.  To our knowledge, the PackFlash Mega menu is the only DNN menu module that incorporates DNN social concepts,” said Chris Riser, CEO of PackFlash.
